On July 24, County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III and Council Chair Ingrid M. Turner celebrated PGAHC’s 30th year anniversary by unveiling new name at special public ceremony. New legislation established in December 2010 expands the role of PGAHC to include the humanities as part of its core mission. The new board was also announced (for complete listing). For the first time, it will include ex officio representatives from both the County Executive and County Council.

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN “JOURNEY STORIES“, a national Smithsonian exhibit which will travel throughout Maryland from May 2012 to January 2013, through a partnership between the MHC and the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street (MOMs) Program.
PANELIST NOMINATIONS NOW BEING ACCEPTED for potential advisory panelists to assist with the review of grant applications for the coming year. Nominees must live in the Greater Metropolitan DC area. Artists, administrators, educators and critics in the arts with at least a two-year history of involvement in the Prince George’s County arts community are eligible for nomination. Individuals are encouraged to self-nominate. Must complete the Advisory Panelist Nomination Form to be eligible for consideration.
